At Horsley, Bookham & Leatherhead RDA our volunteers and ponies create moments of therapy, achievement, and joy for children and young adults with disabilities. We're on a mission to spread smiles, and we need your help!
About Us
At Horsley, Bookham & Leatherhead RDA, our dedicated team provides therapeutic horse riding sessions for children as young as four, up to young adults. Our riders come with a variety of disabilities, including Autism, Down's Syndrome, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and more.
What Volunteers Do
Volunteers are the backbone of our RDA. We're looking for individuals who have a passion for volunteering, enjoy the company of children and animals, and love being outdoors and active. Whether you have experience with horses or not, there's a role for you here.
We are currently recruiting for the following roles:
1. Session Volunteers – weekly during term time
a. Wednesday evening 6:30-8:30pm,
b. Thursday afternoons 11:30-1:00 and 1:15-2:30 (one or both sessions)
c. Friday afternoons, 11:30-1:00 and 1:15-2:30 (same, one or both sessions).
2. Digital Marketing Volunteer - Ad hoc remote role
a few hours per month as required for events, local engagement and fundraising.
About being a Session Volunteer
As a volunteer, you'll help ensure the smooth and safe running of our riding lessons. This could involve leading a pony, assisting riders, or supporting our coaches during sessions. Most importantly, you'll bring your enthusiasm and flexibility to create a positive experience for everyone involved.
About being a Digital Marketing Volunteer
Are you passionate about digital marketing? We're seeking a volunteer to help us spread the word about our charity, events, and fundraising activities. With over 1000 followers on Facebook & Instagram, you'll play a vital role in engaging our community and making a real impact on local children and adults with disabilities. This will involve managing posts on our social channels and help with ad hoc blogs and regular newsletters.
