Welcome to our new Trustee - Jonathan Cook

Tell us a little about yourself

I have been a qualified instructor for 40 years. I spent the first 20 years of my career running a successful livery yard, gaining valuable experience dealing with all types of horses, ponies and owners!

For the last 20 years my focus has been on my freelance work, training both riders and horses.

What attracted you to join HBL RDA?

As an instructor to several HBL RDA trustees, I've become aware of the amazing work that takes place for this wonderful charity and watched with admiration the development of the facility at Badgers Farm.

What will you be focusing on at HBL RDA?

I observed some of the ponies behaviour and development and realised that I am in a position to help remedy this.

I'm confident that with beautifully behaved ponies and well trained volunteers the HBL RDA branch will continue to flourish, allowing for more and more people to benefit from what it can offer.

Its a privilege for me to be involved and I look forward to the future!

Notes from our Chair about the new appointment of Jonathan Cook

"I’m thrilled Jonathan is joining us with his vast knowledge and experience with horses. He is responsible for Equine Behavior & Handling. Our horses and their good behavior is the cornerstone of our success. Our horses good behavior is directly related to our proper handling of them, so JC’s success in this role is really important to our success. Please join me in welcoming him to the HB&L RDA team."

Sheri Johnson, HBL RDA Chair.
